This regulation applies to the Arena Cross-Country competition on September 21, 2025, a competition organized by the Alergăm de Placere Association, which aims to promote outdoor running.

By participating in this Event, participants agree to respect and comply with all provisions, terms and conditions of these Official Regulations and applicable laws in force. Participants must also sign the declaration on their own responsibility, made available by the Organizers upon collection of the participation kit.

1. Event characteristics

The Arena Cross is an amateur running event held in Bucharest on September 21, 2025, with the starting area in front of the National Rugby Stadium (Alexandru Constantinescu Street between Mărăsti Boulevard and the Arc de Triumf) and the finish at the National Arena. The route includes several important objectives, including: the Arc de Triumf, the Government of Romania, the Romanian Athenaeum, the CEC Palace and the National Library.

The start/finish area and competition routes are marked on the route maps in the ROUTE section.

The event has 2 events: 10 km – individual, competitive event, and Family Run, non-competitive event. The minimum age for registration for the competitive event is 14 years old.

The event route will be marked with tape and will have volunteers from the organizers at certain points to indicate the running direction. Please follow only the official markings and the instructions of the volunteers on the route. Throughout the event, road traffic will be restricted on the streets where the running routes are located.

2. Participation fee

      • The participation fee for the 10 km race is 185 lei.

    The fee includes:

      The participation fee for the Family Run is 100 lei for adults and 50 lei for children.

      The fee includes:

          • Sports item

          • Finisher medal

          • Food and hydration points at the start/finish

          • Personalized contest number

          • Marked route

          • Medical services at the start/finish and along the route

          • Products or services offered by event sponsors and partners

        Each child must be registered individually. Each child registered for this event will receive a complete participation kit. Children registered for the Family Run must be accompanied on the route by an adult registered for any of the events. If the adult is already registered for the 10 KM, it is no longer mandatory to register for the Family Run, but the accompanying adult cannot receive the 3K Family Run kit including the finisher medal, but only the kit for the event in which they are registered.

        IMPORTANT: T-shirt sizes are NOT guaranteed, although we will try to ensure that most participants have the size requested during the registration process. Size changes cannot be made when picking up the participation kit, but only at the end of the event.

        3. Registration

            • To register, each participant must complete the online registration form on the official website, crosularenelor.ro, “Register” section according to the instructions on that page.

              • Each participant signs a declaration upon registration stating that they are fit to run, understand and acknowledge the risks of injury that may occur on the route, and fully assume them and exonerate the organizers and sponsors of the event from any liability in the event that they suffer any kind of injury, accident or death.

                • Payment of the participation fee can be made according to the instructions in the email received after registration.

                  • Payment will only be made by card at the time of registration. Otherwise, the registration will be canceled.

                    • In case of failure to pay the contribution within this period, the registration process must be resumed with the application of the conditions from the resumption of registration.

                      • There are no on-site registrations or validations. No cash registrations are accepted.

                        • In case of withdrawal from the competition more than 30 days before the start, the participation fee could be returned to you in the amount of 80% of the amount paid.

                          • In case of withdrawal from the competition less than 30 days before the start, due to the immediate costs borne by the organizer for each individual registration and the provisions of GEO no. 34/2014, registration fees are not refundable, cannot be changed and are not transferable.

                            • Places are transferable to another person up to 15 days before the start, free of charge. Changes to the start list cannot be made less than 15 days before the start.

                          *It is forbidden to change, sell, transfer or offer for exchange the registration for the event. Also, it is not allowed to wear the competition number by a person other than the runner to whom it was assigned. Any violation of this condition will be sanctioned by the disqualification of the runner and the Organizer reserves the right to exclude the person in question from participating in subsequent events. The runner who transfers the registration number to a third party is solely responsible in the event of an accident/incident produced/caused by or involving the third party during the event. The third party could not invoke the non-application of these Regulations as a result of his participation in the event. The Organizer declines any responsibility for any consequences and/or facts and/or damages suffered by the third party.

                          4. Wheelchair race

                          The 10 KM race dedicated to wheelchair users is open to people who use manual and self-propelled wheelchairs.

                          For safety reasons, athletes using other types of mobility equipment (e.g. hand bikes, electric assistive devices, etc.) cannot participate in this race.

                          Participation in this test is free.

                          After registration, people in wheelchairs will send a copy of their identity card and a copy of their disability certificate by email to validate their registration. 

                          The start of the 10 KM wheelchair race will take place 10 minutes earlier than the start of the typical 10 km race. In this regard, presence at the starting line is required 15 minutes before the start of the wheelchair race.

                          The ranking will be divided into two categories, female and male, and the winners of 1st, 2nd and 3rd places will be awarded during the awards ceremony and will receive the diploma and trophy corresponding to their place in the ranking.

                          Adults with motor disabilities who participate in wheelchairs pushed by a third party or in other categories other than those described above may participate in the event but will not be included in the rankings. These individuals will start at the same time as competitors participating in the wheelchair category.

                          For the safety of all participants, and taking into account the fact that they may be overtaken from behind by official bicycles, the timing machine, intervention vehicles and runners, participants in this event ARE ASKED TO RIDE ON THE RIGHT SIDE of the road and to be attentive to changes in direction.

                          5. Awards and Ranking

                          Each race will have its own ranking that will contain each runner’s time and overall place as well as the place in the category. The categories for the 10 KM event are as follows: Female 14-29, Female 30-39, Female 40-49, Female 50+, Male 14-29, Male 30-39, Male 40-49, Male 50+.

                          Competitors belonging to the legal professions Magistrates (prosecutors, judges) ranked on the podium will be awarded only with a diploma and cup or medal, regardless of whether the respective place also has prizes. They will have to announce this at the awards ceremony, before the awards are handed out.

                          Before payment to the participant, all taxes will be deducted from the announced cash prizes in accordance with Romanian legislation, with the difference being paid to the participant.

                          The Family Run event is non-competitive.

                                        • The recommended equipment must be adapted depending on the weather conditions at the time of the start.

                                      7. Contest number

                                      The race number is mandatory. The race number/timing chip provided is personal and non-transferable. It must be worn in front and visible throughout the race. Failure to comply with this rule may result in the participant being disqualified.

                                      Competitors who are not registered or who participate without a competition number will not be admitted to the race to protect the rights of those who are legally registered.

                                      Also, unauthorized vehicles will not have access, for the safety of runners.

                                      The Organizer reserves the right to disqualify any competitor who, in the event of any irregularity committed by a runner such as, but not limited to, the following: does not wear a visible competition number, manipulates and/or transfers it to another, changes the data provided to the Organizer compared to those appearing on his/her identity card, does not complete the entire course, shows poor physical condition, does not provide the Organizer with the necessary documentation or does not comply with any other rule provided for in the regulations.

                                      For legal and sporting reasons, but especially for security reasons, the race number cannot be sold or transferred to another runner. Given the risk involved in wearing a race number without the knowledge of the Organizer and the distortion that occurs in the rankings, the data of the person who transfers or sells will be noted, and in the future he may be refused registration for the Organizer’s events.

                                      Disqualified runners will not be eligible for prizes and trophies.

                                      8. Timing

                                      Timing will be done to the second using disposable electronic chips located on the back of the competition number. The time based on which the ranking will be drawn up will be the raw time, that is, the time between the start and the finish line.

                                      To the extent possible, we will also provide the runners with the net time, i.e. the time between crossing the start line and crossing the finish line, but this time will not be taken into account when compiling the ranking. If 2 competitors run the route at the same time, one will receive place x, and the other place x+1.

                                      9. Pick up the participation kit

                                      The collection of the competition kit will be done on the basis of an identity document (ID or birth certificate in the case of minors under 14 years of age) and a declaration on your own responsibility signed by the participant. The declaration will be sent to each participant together with the registration confirmation email.

                                      The kits will be delivered exclusively on the day and time slot announced on the event website in the “Participation Kit” section. If the participant cannot pick up the kit, the declaration must be signed by the participant and a delegated person who can pick up and deliver the kit. The kits cannot be picked up after the announced time slot or after the event and there is no possibility of sending them by courier.

                                      10. Competition route

                                          • Start location: in front of the National Stadium Arc de Triumf (Alexandru Constantinescu Street on the segment between Mărăsti Boulevard and the Arc de Triumf)

                                            • 10 km: start time 9.30 AM | time limit: 1h30′

                                            • 10 km – Wheelchairs: start time 09:20 | time limit: 1h30′

                                            • Family Run: start time 12.00 AM | time limit: 1h00′

                                          Access can be done by personal car or by tram 41 to the Casin station or by bus 361 to the Arcul de Triumf station.

                                          Route description: Start in front of the National Stadium Arc de Triumf (Alexandru Constantinescu Street on the segment between Mărăsti Boulevard and Arc de Triumf) – Arc de Triumf Square – Kiseleff Street – Victoriei Square – Calea Victoriei – Splaiul Independêtei – Halelor Street, Unirii Blvd. – Alba Iulia Square – Decebal Blvd. – Basarabia Blvd. – National Arena.

                                          The running route, in detailed form, can be viewed in the ROUTE section.

                                          The running route will be marked by the organizer with marking tape and will be supervised by race referees, located at various points along the route.

                                          The running surface is asphalt. Runners are advised to wear appropriate equipment for the season and running surface.

                                          Hydration and food stations will be located as follows: in the starting area (water and isotonic), at km 5 (water, isotonic and food) and at the finish (drinks and food).

                                          Hydration and food stations for the Family Run will be located at the start/finish.

                                          It is prohibited under any circumstances to throw debris, packaging, glasses or any other materials on the route, as a sign of respect for the environment.

                                          If any participant is unable or unwilling to continue the race for any reason, they must immediately inform the organizers either at the checkpoints or by calling the phone number on the competition number. 

                                          The organizer also reserves the right to stop a participant if he or she is injured, and continuing the race may worsen the situation for him or those around him.

                                          In case of adverse weather conditions and/or other special conditions, the organizer reserves the right to stop the race or to modify the time barrier and/or the route. Route changes will be announced in advance. The organizer reserves the right to cancel/postpone the race in exceptional cases provided that all participants are notified in advance. In case of force majeure, by this we mean any events that could influence the smooth running of the event such as: major floods, natural disasters or major political events that cause the organizers to cancel the competition, the participation fee will not be refunded, another date will be set for the competition.

                                          11. Compliance with safety rules

                                          The organizer assumes no responsibility for material loss or damage, exposure to extreme circumstances: illness, contact/collision with other participants, spectators, volunteers, adverse weather conditions, injuries caused during the run, disability, serious bodily injury or even death.

                                          All participants must be medically fit, both physically and mentally. Participation in the event is at the participant’s own risk and assumes all risks associated with the activity. By registering and participating in the event, each participant agrees that the organizers, sponsors, vendors, volunteers, participating institutions or officials, partners and personnel responsible for the event will not be held liable for any accidents or injuries suffered as a result of participating in this event. To participate in the event, each registrant must sign a self-declaration before the race.

                                          To the extent that they notice that a participant has medical problems, runners will inform the organizers or alert the staff at the First Aid points. Participants authorize and give their express consent to be transported to the hospital/to be provided with medical assistance following the express request of the Organizer’s representatives, if, in the opinion of these persons, medical assistance is necessary and declare that they waive any claims they may have in connection with such transport and/or emergency treatment, delays or deficiencies in connection with it.

                                          Medical services and ambulances, coordinated by the Organizer’s team, will be located in the start area, the finish area, as well as at km 5, coinciding with the fuel station, but also closing the race together with the closing car.

                                          Any runner with medical conditions (allergies, special needs, etc.) must declare this on the back of their race number or in the registration section. They can also inform the Organizers at the Info Point at the Running Expo and at the start of the race up to a few minutes before the start.

                                          For the 10 kilometer race, it is not allowed to run accompanied by people who are not participating in the same race, either on foot or in any type of vehicle, or to carry children in your arms or in strollers, nor to run with animals, strollers, etc. This prohibition extends throughout the entire race and especially at the finish line, failure to comply with it being a reason for possible disqualification by the Organizers.

                                          Considering the damage that would be caused to the Organizers and the other runners of the race, in case of access to the race by violating the established access conditions or by committing irregularities, the Organizer reserves the right to take appropriate measures, in accordance with applicable legislation. Both those who commit such irregularities and those who assist them in their commission will be taken into account.

                                          12. Copyright

                                          By registering for the competition, all participants will automatically authorize the organizers, including any race partners, to use and reproduce any material containing statements or images of the participants running or not for marketing and image/event promotion purposes. The materials and photos will be used to promote the event. The legal basis is represented by rt. 6 letter f) of the GDPR – processing is necessary for the purposes of the legitimate interests pursued by the Operator or a third party.

                                          13. Final notes and penalties

                                          Photos from the event are available to participants for two months from the event date.

                                          The only vehicles allowed to follow the race will be those authorized by the Organizers and will be marked accordingly.

                                          Participants are required to read and follow the instructions presented in the “Event Info” section on the event website www.crosularenelor.ro before the day of the event and also to listen to and follow the instructions of the organizers at the event venue.

                                          By participating in this competition, participants agree to respect and comply with all provisions, terms and conditions of these Regulations.

                                          The Regulation is drawn up and made public in accordance with Romanian law, being available on the website www.crosularenelor.ro. The Organizers reserve the right to modify or change these Official Regulations, such modifications will enter into force only after publishing a prior announcement presenting these modifications on the website www.crosularenelor.ro.

                                          Disqualifications:

                                          (a) The competition medical service, organizers, including referees and volunteers, are authorized to withdraw any athlete during the race if he appears to be in poor physical condition.

                                          (b) Any athlete who does not complete the entire course.

                                          (c) Any athlete who is not wearing a competition number/chip or who is misrepresenting their number.

                                          (d) Athlete who demonstrates unsportsmanlike conduct or who repeatedly and unjustifiably protests.

                                          (e) Complaints must be made verbally to the Organizers, no later than 30 minutes after the official communication of the results. If they are rejected, they may also be submitted in writing. If there is no further complaint regarding the Organizers’ decision, the decision becomes final.

                                          (f) All participants, by participating in the event, accept these Regulations.

                                          FINAL CONSIDERATION:

                                          The Organization reserves the right to expand or modify these Rules, if deemed necessary for safety, logistical or other reasons.
